I Promised An Update

I do apologize for the lack of updates lately. It’s not that I have been terribly busy – I’ve just been playing World of Warcraft – A LOT!

Right now I have a level 36, soon to be 37, warlock I named Ikura. I used to play a hunter, but I thought I would try something different. Plus another bonus is that warlocks get relatively free mounts when they reach level 40. Woot!

I am really, really, really enjoying playing this game. I am in a guild which is okay. It really isn’t organized that well, but I am hoping that changes as more players reach the higher levels. I kind of joined them on a whim during my free trial. They are nice people, but I think I might switch guilds soon since I would like to be able to raid soon and play with others who are on when I am. So, I would probably have to join a guild with more players in other countries.

I’ve been to the gym a few times. I really need to just get off my ass and go more often. I haven’t been to another Turbo Kick class though. :( This really does bum me out as I really enjoyed it. It’s just a little hard finding a class that I can go to. The class at the downtown gym is the closest to me, but parking is such a pain that it just isn’t worth it.

The classes at the other gyms are at convenient times, but they are all at least 30 to 40 minutes away from where I live – when there is no traffic. Those times could double during rush hour and that is when a lot of those classes are. Argh. i was going to go to a class today but my left shoulder has been acting up so I thought it best that I take a rest day today.
I am also still going to the beach 2 to 3 times a week and am getting a major tan. I am getting that funky watch tan which I think is funny since I don’t always wear a watch when I go swimming. It is also kind of weird that I am getting so dark because I use SPF 45 or 50 sunscreen.

I haven’t seen any turtles lately but have been met a weird swim buddy at the beach. My swim buddy? It’s a 1 inch shore fish I have affectionately named Swimmie. I don’t know what kind of fish Swimmie is, but it’s just weird.

I first noticed Swimmie last week. I had just finished a leg of my swim between lifeguard stands and was just hanging out in the water. Then I noticed this little fish swimming right by my arm. I moved my arm through the water a little and the fish kept swimming alongside it. I took that arm out of the water and it switched over to my other arm. I took that arm out of the water and so it started swimming next to my torso. It was just so bizarre. I hung out there for a good 10 or 15 minutes just marveling that this little creature found comfort swimming next to me.

I swam back to the first lifeguard stand and waited. A couple of minutes later I noticed the little fishy swimming next to me again!! It followed me! How weird is that?!!! Again, I hung out for awhile just moving my arms around in the water trying to figure out why this little creature would want to swim next to me.

I went back to the beach a couple of days later and didn’t see the fish so I figured it was a one time thing. That is until the next time I went to the beach. It was kind of crowded but there it was again after I reached the second lifeguard stand!!!! It was a little more cautious this time and didn’t hang around as long as that first time.

My little swimming buddy joined me again a third time yesterday. It didn’t follow me between lifeguard stands this time, but that’s okay.

In other news, we might get hit by a Tropical Depression this weekend! It started off as Hurricane Cosme in the southeastern Pacific earlier this week but it has weakened quite a bit since then. I was a bit freaked earlier since I haven’t been through a hurricane in over 20 years. But, we are prepared. We have a lot of batteries, several wind up flashlights, a gas cooking thing, candles, canned food and bottled water. I picked up some extra cat food just in case since I was running low too, but it looks like it may not even hit the island I am on. Whew.

Here’s one of the latest forecasts for the storm -

Tropical Depression Cosme

It will be bringing in some much needed rain to the islands which is a good thing. There is a section of the island of Maui that is in a major drought right now. There is a 100 million gallon reservoir there and it currently only contains 13 million gallons – which is completely nuts!!!!

I always wondered what would happen to an area if the reservoirs ran dry and unless this storm brings some much needed rain to that area, well, we’ll find out soon.

I am also in the process of looking for a new web host. I’m thinking of switching to either A Small Orange or Bluehost. ASO has gotten pretty positive reviews overall – as well as Bluehost. Either option would be significantly cheaper than what I am paying now too. I am leaning more towards Bluehost simply because of the vast storage space they offer. But of course, I just need to do more research.
