I woke up Tuesday feeling a little sick. Blech. It didn’t feel like a full on cold, but it was that feeling that you get right before you get really sick. Double Blech. Needless to say I took it easy that day and pushed a lot of fluids.
I woke up feeling pretty much the same on Wednesday, except that I think I also have a slight ear infection. Super!
This sucks. I didn’t work out on Tuesday or Wednesday. Well, I did march in place for about 20 minutes while I watched the first 3 episodes of Creature Comforts. It’s pretty interesting. It was created by the same people who brought us Wallace and Gromit. I think I heard that there was an American version of this now. Egads. One thing that really annoys me is American remakes of British comedies. I mean do these networks honestly believe that Americans are too stupid or unsophisticated enough to “get” the British humour? Yea I know I can watch a lot of this stuff on BBC America, but I don’t get that station right now.
I did manage to get out of the house on Wednesday though. The local drugstore had some Japanese kitchen knives on sale and so I just had to go get one. I had a couple of these in Portland which I left behind and I missed them. Go figure. Even though they are sold at a drugstore, they are really good knives and pretty cheap considering that they were $10 each. I just picked up a vegetable knife since they didn’t have any chef’s knives for sale. I’ll take a picture later. I remember my ex Tom took our knives to a sharpener once and he said the sharpener was gaga over the Japanese chef’s knife.
My birthday is Saturday and I am planning on going to Makino Chaya for lunch and then head off to Hanauma Bay for another snorkeling expedition.
I am pretty excited about Makino Chaya which is pretty silly especially since I don’t do well at all you can eat buffets – mostly because I don’t eat enough to justify the cost. However, lunch at Makino Chaya is pretty reasonable since it’s about $13 a person and you get half off on your birthday. Woot! Makino Chaya is an all you can eat Japanese buffet.
I’ve been wanting to go, but yea, I don’t eat enough for a dinner buffet.I will be seriously bummed if I can’t go snorkeling though. I am not as excited as I was last month, but I still can’t wait. I think the lack of excitement is due to my monthly visitor and because I am feeling yucky right now. At least it’s not a full on cold, so hopefully it will go away soon.
