Okay, November 7th is election day in the US. If you are registered, please don’t forget to head to the polls and vote! If you don’t vote, please don’t bitch about the outcome – Thank you very much!

I didn’t work out Sunday night – my elbow was really too wonky so I decided to just make it a rest day. I wish I could tell if it was carpal tunnel or tennis elbow, but I guess I would have to go to a doctor to check that out – which I can’t since I don’t have insurance right now. Doh!
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do a cardio workout or a high rep/low weight workout, but since I did a cardio workout on Saturday, I went with the HR/LW and did Ramp It Up! from Slim in 6. It’s another Beachbody workout, but I picked it up at Target a little over a year ago. Of course, after I bought it, Target had a pricing gaffe and was selling it for the ridiculous price of $6.99 – which they corrected within a week. I don’t even know if Target is selling this anymore, since we don’t have a Target in Hawaii. ;(
The workout itself is about 48 minutes long and starts off with about 20 minutes of lunges, squats and standing ab work. It then moves onto some upper body strengthening exercises with a resistance band – which is easily adapted to dumb bells if you don’t have or don’t like resistance bands. Then there are those famous donkey kicks and pushups and ends with ab work and a stretch.
I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to be able to make it through this since I am still getting into a good fitness regime, but I was able to get through it fine – well except for the donkey kicks, but I am working on it! I was sweating like crazy when I did it, but I think that was due to the humidity being around 80% here!
I skipped the stretch at the end and instead did Slim & Limber from the same workout set. Personally, I find the stretches in the Slim and 6 series to be a little too short for my liking. Slim and Limber is great though – it is relatively short at about 15 minutes and she hits all of the major stretching areas too.
I do like Debbie as an instructor – she’s friendly and personable – but her cueing and timing are really off a lot of times. It doesn’t help that the music is out of sync with the workout too – so if you follow the beat of the music, you either end up doing too many or too little reps. I have most of her Slim Series workouts too, but have been too afraid to try them actually. I also heard on one of my fitness message boards that she is going to be filiming some new workouts – like this week or next week that are supposed to be about 30 minutes long. I am excited about that. I just need to save up for when they come out!
