Leslie and the Firm

Walkaerobics Deluxe Edition Monday night I did the 2 mile walk from Leslie Sansone. I’ve gone over it before, so I don’t really have any new insight to add, except that it definitely has gotten easier to do. Whoo Whoo!

Since that workout is about 30 minutes long, I felt like doing something else as well as an add on. Since IThe Firm Sculpting Ball Workout kind of did a strength workout the day before, I wanted to do something kind of light. I decided on the Firm Sculpting Ball workout. Since my back would hurt like a mofo when doing the cardio segment on this DVD, I decided to use a 3 pound ball I had instead of the 4 pound ball. It worked! I switched back to the 4 pound ball after that segment, but I am glad that I kind of figured out what the problem was.

Tuesday night, I decided to go for a strength workout, so I did the Firm Maximum Body Shaping. It’s about 45 minutes long and is a nice full body strength workout. It’s led by Tracie Long and man, that woman is FIERCE! She is one of the older Firm instructors and probably the best one they ever had. Man, this woman is built! Her legs were so muscular in this workout, it makes you wonder what her training regiment must have been like.

She actually left the Firm a few years ago and started Tracie Long Training and the health club V in Charleston, South Carolina. Her TLT DVD’s are awesome, or so I’ve heard, I’ve only done 1 of the 4 she’s put out. She’s really leaned out since she left the Firm. I think it’s because she focuses on what’s called functional fitness. The Firm touts the leg press step up exercise as a great way to trim your thighs, and I am sure that it works for some people, but for a lot of people, it actually bulks a lot of people up. I think it did in my case. I used to work out to the Firm 5 or 6 days a week last year. I did lose some weight, but my thighs definitely got bigger when I was doing them pretty much exclusively.

That’s one thing that I noticed about Tracie Long, she thighs are definitely leaner now that she’s left the Firm. Is it because she no longer does the leg press? I don’t know, but that is the impression I get.

I am not sure what workout I will do tonight. I am pretty tired again and maybe I should actually sleep at a reasonable hour.
